From The Artist
For me, the feelings and atmosphere of the subject matter and landscape that I strive to portray are as important as the correct composition, lighting, and coloring of the painting. Without this, a work of art is simply an artificial portrayal of the wild. I work in different mediums, such as acrylic, oil, watercolor, and pastel, which are determined by the subject matter I paint. I often combine different mediums in one piece and use textured backgrounds, especially on canvas works, to express my art. Apart from my realistic approach, I sometimes explore collages, combining realistic and symbolic elements, for example in Elephant Collage.
